1. Who We Are

Vourn is a product of Ward-Cubrilla Tech Ventures, LLC, a North Carolina limited liability company. When you use Vourn, you are interacting with our services operated from North Carolina, United States.

2. What We Collect

We collect information you provide directly:

• Account information: your email address, display name, and password when you sign up
• Profile information: your photo, location, industry, project description, and social links
• Content you post: written entries, audio recordings, and entry titles
• Payment information: processed securely through Stripe — we do not store card numbers
• Optional information: city, state, country, Twitter handle, and project website

We also collect automatically:

• Basic usage data to operate the platform
• Authentication tokens to keep you signed in

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Operate and improve the Vourn platform
• Process payments between supporters and founders via Stripe Connect
• Send transactional emails including email confirmation, thank you notes, and invitations
• Transcribe audio entries using OpenAI Whisper

4. Who We Share Your Information With

We share data only with the services necessary to operate Vourn:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage
• Stripe — payment processing and founder payouts
• Resend — transactional email delivery
• OpenAI — audio transcription via Whisper

We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with advertisers.

5. Audio Recordings

When you post an audio entry, your recording is stored securely in private cloud storage. It is accessible only to you and supporters you choose to share it with based on your visibility settings. Audio is transcribed automatically using OpenAI Whisper. By posting an audio entry, you consent to this transcription.

6. Payments

Financial transactions on Vourn are processed by Stripe. Vourn takes an 8% platform fee on all financial support transactions. Founders receive 92% of each payment to their connected Stripe account. Payment data is governed by Stripe's privacy policy.

7. Data Retention

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at hello@vourn.io. Upon deletion we will remove your personal data from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@vourn.io.

9. Children

Vourn is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

10. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by posting a notice on the platform.
